Annual Get Together | Updated 17 Nov 2018
A big thank you to everyone who came along to our Annual Get Together on Wednesday, where we welcomed our new Chair Olwyn and Vice-chair Zoe.
We also bid a fond farewell to the members of the partnership who are moving on to pastures new. We are very grateful for all their hard work and dedication.
As we mentioned on the night, we still have some planning to do, and the inductions will take place in the New Year. We can't wait to get started!
Rudheath and Witton Together are looking for a new Chairperson | Updated 8 Sep 2018
Rudheath and Witton Together - RWT - is a community partnership located in Northwich.
Formed in 2011, RWT is a ‘Big Local’ area granted at least £1million to invest in our residents and our neighbourhood, so we can make our area an even better place to live.
Over the past five years, RWT has managed a wide range of community projects and activities. We have set up groups for older people and young people, run community arts and employment programmes, given out grants and loans, and lots more.
Our experience means we have learnt a lot about our community, and the best way to deliver projects.
RWT is led by a group of residents - our Partnership - who are responsible for guiding the project on the ground. We have just written our third action plan which will start this autumn, and are now looking for a new Chairperson, and a Vice Chair, to work with us to deliver this exciting new phase.
Who are we looking for?
We’re seeking someone community minded, who like us wants to make our area the very best it can be for our residents, both now and in the future. Is this you?!
We want someone who is connected to our area – ideally a local resident but this isn’t essential - perhaps you work nearby or have family ties here?
Above all we need you to be a really good listener, energetic and keen to get things done, and with a positive outlook. If you’re good at organising, that would be a bonus too!
What sort of commitment are talking about?
We have some paid staff – a project co-ordinator and a community development officer, who will provide support and guidance. We’ll work with you to help you understand the ethos of Big Local, and our vision, and make sure you’re up to speed on all things RWT.
You’ll need to make sure RWT is transparent and accountable, and our community are getting good value from our grant. But we’ll help you with all that too.
The Partnership itself is an informal group, who meets bi-monthly for a chat over dinner, so as a minimum we need someone who can co-ordinate our members, and make sure decisions are made and actions followed up. Basically keeping everyone on track!
Our action plan has been agreed, but there’s still lots to do to make sure we achieve our aims, so you’ll need to provide some leadership to help us deliver our vision, and make sure we’re generally heading in the right direction.
Obviously you’ll need a bit of spare time, and be able to commit to spending it on RWT! Most of our communication is done via email, so being available via / responding promptly to email is a must too.

We're really excited that we've produced our first newsletter and by now all of our residents should have received one through their letterbox. If you haven't, don't worry, you can pick up a copy from our stall at the Community Fun Day in Roker Park on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th July or call into the Venue during one of our Welcome Wednesdays.

Summit | Updated 2 Jul 2018
We were very grateful that so many partners, colleagues and residents were able to attend our summit recently.
Clare Babbs and Margaret Jackson have been evaluating the last 2 years of our project and this was their opportunity to feed back any successes as well as lessons learned.
Three working groups then discussed what we can do over the next 3 years to have an even bigger impact.
Their final recommendations are expected in the autumn.
Family Activities Day at Grozone Community Garden | Updated 7 Apr 2018
As part of our Easter holiday programme of events we have held a special Family Activities Day at Grozone Community Garden.
There was something for all the family to enjoy, from pond-dipping to making bug hotels and from messing around in the mud kitchen to enjoying smores made over a camp fire.
Local artist Jo Thilwind could be found in the yurt showing visitors how to make masks out of natural materials and leaf-pressing was available in the picnic area.
Regular volunteers helped to run the outdoor kitchen, serving free hot drinks to guests. And visitors made their appreciation known with donations of over £60 to the garden.
Grozone is open normally 10-3 pm Tuesday-Thursday and visitors are always welcome.

Easter Fun Day | Updated 19 Apr 2017
We were pleased to be able to support Rudheath Social Club with a small grant towards their Easter Fun Day. There were lots of activities for families to enjoy including rodeo, face painting, bouncy castle, photo booth, hook a duck and beat the bleep.

Community Camp | Updated 7 Apr 2017
Applications are open for a three day Community Camp at the Eden Project in Cornwall, offering a mixture of practical activities, workshop sessions and networking opportunities for volunteers and community activists interested in connecting people in their communities through groups, activities and projects.
Rudheath and Witton residents, especially those interested in becoming more involved with the partnership, are encouraged to apply.
The weekend takes place 19-22 May.
